On July 2nd at 9:54 am, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Marshall Police and Marshall EMS, responded to a home on the 5600 block of Box Elder Road in the town of Medina for a report of a 4-year-old in medical distress. When first responders arrived, the child was unresponsive. Despite life-saving efforts by police and paramedics, he was pronounced deceased a short time later at a local hospital.
At this time, the cause of the child’s death is unknown. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy. The Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident. Detectives are working diligently to gather all relevant information.
